Talk About Gynae

We want to build a better understanding of local people's experiences of accessing and receiving treatment for gynaecological issues.  We want to find out what people think, what's working well and what areas need improvement.  We will then feed the information back to those that provide the services.

Gynaecology is the medical practice of dealing with the health of the female reproductive system (and the breasts).  There are a number of common conditions that are connected with gynaecology services but are not limited to:

  • Heavy or Irregular Periods
  • Endometriosis
  • Fibroids
  • Polycystic Ovary Syndrome
  • Pelvic Floor Disorders
  • Sexually Transmitted Infections/Diseases
  • Vulval & Vaginal Disorders
  • Cervical Smear
  • Gynaecological Cancers

We know that gynaecology can be a sensitive subject but we are encouraging people to bring it out of the shadows and talk more openly about issues that can affect anyone.

We are currently analysing and reviewing the information that we received through our Talk About Gynae survey (this is now closed) and we will be doing some further work on this important topic in the summer.

Thank you to everyone who has participated and helped us so far.
