Ramadan 2022 - advice from Diabetes UK

Ramadan in 2022 will run from on or around Saturday 2 April to Sunday 1 May. Holding the webinar in February will give people the time to prepare for fasting and to receive health advice in good time.

The Qur'an requires Muslims to fast during the month of Ramadan from sunrise to sunset. Ultimately, it is a personal choice whether or not to fast. However, for those who choose to fast, Diabetes UK recommends that people consult a doctor or healthcare team before Ramadan, to make sure that they are able to look after themselves properly. Failing to do so is in itself contrary to the Qur'an, which clearly states that you must not act in a way that harms your body (Al Baqarah Verse: 195).
