Recognition at national Healthwatch conference
Last week members of the Healthwatch Bradford team travelled to Manchester for the national Healthwatch Network Conference.
We were pleased to receive two 'highly commended' awards. One in the category of 'Diversity and Inclusion' for our work involving people with learning disabilities, and another for our joint work with other West Yorkshire Healthwatch on access to dental services.
This success of our work with people with learning disabilities is down to our strong partnership with local People First organisations, and to the enthusiasm and commitment of the volunteers. We plan to hold a local event to celebrate and recognise their achievements.
Our work on developing the CRM database system was also recognised with our Database Administrator Rose Lanigan delivering three packed workshop sessions about how we've implemented the new system and how it supports our work in Bradford.
You can read more about highlights from the conference on Healthwatch England's website, including this video about the impact the network has made in the past year (and you might just spot some familiar Bradford faces).
