Free online support with mental health at a time to suit you in Bradford district

Free online guided self-help is now available within a week of assessment in Bradford district.
MyWellbeing College

Bradford, Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven MyWellbeing College offers a range of learning opportunities to help people manage symptoms of anxiety, stress, low mood or difficulty sleeping, whenever it suits them.

Liz Harney, clinical manager with MyWellbeing College, said: “We recognise that people who are caring for children, working shifts or long hours, often don’t seek help because they worry it will be difficult to fit around their commitments. We want to change that by encouraging them to consider our online guided self-help.

“It offers a simple way to learn how to – even if you’re only able to concentrate for short periods. And we’re now able to offer that help usually within a week of having a chat with you to assess your needs.”

MyWellbeing College is a long-established NHS provider of psychological therapies and uses the SilverCloud online learning tool for guided self-help. The proven programmes are interactive, based on cognitive behavioural therapy principles and overseen by a psychological wellbeing practitioner.

To register for the online guided self-help or find out about other support available, including group online courses and one-to-one therapy, visit the MyWellbeing College website or call 0300 555 5551 and press option 3.

Online courses - help with anxiety or depression from the comfort of your home

People in Bradford dealing with anxiety or depression despite the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions can still get help from the comfort of their own homes as Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust’s MyWellbeing College has released new dates for their popular online group courses.

Managing MyAnxiety looks at what anxiety is and how it can affect people, before offering helpful solutions for managing challenging thoughts, dealing with panic and sleeping better. The course is offered on Tuesdays from 19 October 2021.

Managing MyDepression offers a range of techniques to help manage low mood, exploring why we feel depressed and offering relaxation techniques as well as useful ways to tackle problems. The next course is on on Tuesdays from 19 October 2021.

Both courses are offered online via live webinar, once a week for six weeks, in sessions lasting about an hour. You don’t need any special software or equipment, just a smartphone, tablet or computer connected to the internet.
